As the end of the year (and decade!) is getting closer, my partner in crime Valentí Acconcia and I decided to jump on the bandwagon of doing a ‘top 10’ list. And seeing the great year that Spanish companies have had on equity crowdfunding, the target was easy… the top 10 have raised nearly 20m€ from over 11,000 investors!
Methodology
We are both big believers in turning your users into investors. As I have discussed in previous articles (for example in The benefits of Equity Crowdfunding), it has the power of increasing all of the metrics that matter for a B2C brand. So what a great opportunity to get both investment and increase the engagement of your customers!
That’s why we decided that, rather than ordering the list in terms of investment, we would do the list of biggest equity crowdfunding rounds in Spain by number of investors.
We compiled the data by asking all of the platforms operating with Spanish businesses to share their data with us.
As some of these platforms are Spanish based, we have converted the amounts to Euros. Thanks to all of the platforms for their input in compiling this list and especial thanks to my esteemed collaborator Valentí Acconcia, who’s published a similar blog post in his website (in Spanish) and a video in his YouTube channel featuring yours truly (also in Spanish). If you fancy watching us talking in hyper-speed Spanish, here we are:
