Frequently Ask Questions
What type of projects do you work with?
With purpose-driven entrepreneurial, cultural and community projects. I work with equity, rewards and donations campaigns. The most important criteria that I use to select the projects I work with is the viability, not only of the campaign itself but also of the project after the campaign.
Why do you take an upfront fee rather than a success fee?
Because I want to give the same quality service to each client, regardless of the fact that they end up raising £500 or £500,000. My job is to help my clients to launch the best crowdfunding campaign possible and that they can validate their purpose-driven projects with a viable business model.
Do you really charge £210 for an hour-long Skype call?
Not really… I charge £210 for my expertise and skills not only of crowdfunding but in marketing and purpose-driven businesses. This helps my clients save time and money in the launch of their projects. On top of that, after each Skype call we have a follow up via email and WhatsApp of the tasks assigned to the client. I will give you feedback on the output of those tasks.
Why don’t you guarantee the launch of the campaign?
Most of the campaigns in which we go through the 8 sessions will be launched (so far I have a 100% success, but it’s likely that, as I get involved in more campaigns, this could go down to around 80%). Unfortunately, it’s not possible to guarantee the launch of a campaign. Firstly, because this will depend largely on the work of the client, who will need to execute the tasks agreed. It’s also a possibility that, during the sessions, we come to the conclusion that the campaign is not viable for several reasons (costs of the rewards, lack of momentum in pre-campaign, prototyping or manufacturing issues…).
What can I expect from the 8-hours consultancy and follow-up service?
Firstly I will guide you on the complete design of your crowdfunding campaign, including rewards, the campaign description, a video script and a guide on the visual design of it. We will work on the campaign strategy to ensure it obeys the crowdfunding golden rules. When we reach the launch stage, I will help you with weekly reporting, analysing the Key Performer Indicators and fine-tuning the tactics. We will also take a good look at the costs and tax implications. It is important to understand that this will imply a lot of your time and dedication.
What’s your success rate and what’s your biggest campaign?
So far, 100% of the 9 campaigns I’ve been involved in have been successful. This is likely to go down to 80% once I get involved in more campaigns. The biggest campaign raised just over £906k.
Who will be in charge of the video, graphic design and copywriting?
This is the responsibility of the client, who can outsource to a professional. Through the agency Crowdeasy I can refer you to other professionals that have been previously involved in successful crowdfunding campaigns. Included in the price, I will help you get the basics right for your video script and shooting, as well as the copy for the campaign. But the actual production is not included in the price.
Can we stop the consultancy work?
Yes, it’s possible. That usually happens if the client can’t keep the pace of the work needed. If we deem it reasonable, we can agree to a refund of the sessions that haven’t been delivered.
