The rule in the team in Crowdfunding is as simple as assigning clear roles and responsibilities to the people involved in the campaign. This division of tasks is crucial for the success of the campaign.
The most important tasks for the success of a crowdfunding campaign fall into three groups. These are production, management and communication tasks.
Let’s analyse them one by one.
Production tasks
In this group, we have the campaign video production, graphic design (including any images for the campaign) and the production of any other content.
It’s quite crucial to consider if we need the help of professionals for tasks in this group that can be key for the success of the campaign, as for example the video production as we’ll see in the rule of video 120.
Management tasks
In this group, we can include tasks such as costs calculation, campaign analytics (visits, conversions, etc.), controlling the milestones of the campaign, such as meeting the 30-90-100 or the power of 100 rules. And, most importantly the task of taking decisions during the campaign.
Even if you have an external consultant helping you in these tasks, it still crucial that the core team dedicates at least one person to supervise directly these tasks.
Communication tasks
Here, we can include tasks like the creation of messages for the campaign (blog articles, social media posts, etc.), the task of community management including sub-tasks such as scheduling posts and interacting with any replies on those posts, and finally public relations with the media.
As we discussed in the post on the rule of the 4 C of crowdfunding, communication is perhaps the most crucial of the C’s!
How do you meet the rule of the Team in Crowdfunding?
It can be as simple as dividing roles and responsibilities and respective tasks among the team members and get a firm commitment from each one of them of their execution.
For it to be effective, we should have a clear view of the strengths and weaknesses of the team and outsource any tasks that fall outside our core team’s skills.
The three key points to meet this golden rule
- Understand the three groups of tasks: production, management and communication.
- Identify the skills of the team to assign the three groups of tasks.
- If we have a glaring gap for any of the tasks, outsource them to professionals.
